Recipe: Mississippi Hush Puppies

1 C Self Rising Cornmeal mix
1/2 c Self rising flour
1 tbsp Sugar
1 large egg
1/2 c Milk or beer
1/2 c Dicec Onion
1/2 c Chopped Green Pepper
1 Jalapeno pepper, chopped, (leave in seeds if you like heat )
Vegatable oil to fry in
Combine first three in a large bowl. Make a wellin center. Combine egg
and next 4 ingredients , mixing well. Add to the dry ingredients, stiffing
just enough to mix. Pour oil to a depth of 3 inched in a dutch oven (or
use a fry daddy ) and heat to about 375o. Drop by spoon and fry in small
batches.
