Recipe: Cube Steak Rye Sandwiches

Preparation time: 5 min. Preheated broiler
Pan Frying time: 8 min. Broiling time: 5 min.

For 4 servings you will need:
1 to 1 1/2 Ibs, beef cube steaks (4 medium)
Cracked pepper
2 to 3 tsp, oil
1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
8 slices rye bread with caraway seeds
4 Tbsp. oil
1 large red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation:
1.Sprinkle the steaks with cracked pepper, using from 14 to 1/2 tsp.
de­pending on your taste preference.

2. Heat the oil and butter in heavy skillet.

3. Brown the steaks quickly, about 4 minutes per side.

4. While steaks are cooking, drizzle about 1 tsp. oil on each bread slice.
Broil lightly, Turn and top with onion slices.

5. Drizzle with more oil. Broil until lightly browned, Sprinkle with cheese,
broil for a few seconds,

6.slices, this time onion-side up, Serve.
