Recipe: Blackberry Cake

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
3 eggs
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 Tbs sour milk
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 cups blackberries mashed with 1/2 cup sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare blackberries and set aside.
Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs.
Mix flour, baking powder and salt together in a small bowl.
In another small bowl or cup mix the sour milk and baking soda.
Add these mixtures alternately to the creamed mixture.
Add blackberries and mix well.
Bake in a 9x13" floured pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
