Recipe: Freezer Biscuits

Freezer Biscuits
4 cups flour
2 T. baking powder
1 1/2 t. salt
1 t. sugar
1/2 t. baking soda
1 container sour cream (16 oz)
1/2 cup chilled butter, cut into pieces
3 t. water
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and baking soda.
Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut sour cream and butter into dry
ingredients until mixture begins to cling together. Add water, 1 t. at a time to
moisten dough. Shape into a ball. On a lightly floured surface, sue a floured
rolling pin to roll out dough to 1" thickness. Use a 2" biscuit cutter to cut out
biscuits. Transfer to an ungreased baking sheet. Cover and freeze 1 hour.
Transfer frozen biscuits to a resealable plastic bag. Give with baking
instructions, or use immediately.
To Bake:
Place frozen biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in a 425 oven for
15-17 minutes or until tops are lightly browned. Serve warm.
