Recipe: Biscuit Or Champagne Pastry

1 1/4 cups self raising flour
1 tablespoon cornflour
1 pinch salt
1/3 cup butter
1 egg
1/4 cup sugar

Sift self raising flour, cornflour, and salt. Rub in the butter. Mix into a dry dough with beaten egg and sugar. Turn onto a floured board, and roll out lightly. Use as required for sweet dishes. Bake in a moderate oven 180-200C for about 25 minutes.
