Recipe: After-school Snack Cake

After-School Snack Cake
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1-1/2 cups applesauce
1-1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
FROSTING:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 Tbs. butter, softened
2 Tbs. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
Milk
Heat oven to 375. Cream butter and sugar together for cake. Add
remaining ingredients. Pour batter into greased and floured 9" pan
and bake for 30-40 minutes until cake tests done. Cool. Frosting:
Mix all ingredients together, using enough milk to make it of
spreading consistency. Frost cake.
