Ballpark Peanuts and Popcorn

5 qts. popped popcorn
1 cup butter
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 T. white vinegar
2 cups brown sugar, packed
1/4 t. baking soda
1 t. vanilla extract
1 cup peanuts

Spread popcorn in a lightly buttered roasting pan; set aside. Bring next 4
ingredients to a boil in a pan over medium heat; boil for 5 minutes. Remove from
heat. Carefully stir in baking soda, vanilla, and peanuts. Pour over popcorn;
stir to coat. Bake at 250 for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Store in
an airtight container. Makes about 5 quarts. Surprise a baseball fan of any
