Recipe: Beef Steak With Creamy Gravy

12 ounces boneless beef round steak cut 3/4 inch thick
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon pepper
nonstick cooking spray
1 cup water
1 teaspoon instant beef bouillon granules
1/2 of a 12 ounce can evaporated milk
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Trim fat from meat and cut meat in too four serving size pieces. In a small
mixing bowl stir together the 2 tablespoons of four and the pepper. Pound
the flour mixture in to the meat. Spray a cold large skillet with cooking
spray. Brown meat on both sides in hot skillet. Drain if necessary. Add
the water and bouillon granules to the skillet. Bring to boiling. Reduce
heat: cover and simmer about 1 1/4 hours or till the meat is tender. Remove
meat and keep warm. For gravy: gradually stir the evaporated milk in to the
1 tablespoon of flour until the mixture is smooth. Stir the flour mixture in
to the pan juices. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir
for 1 minute more. Serve gravy over meat.
