Recipe: Cabbage Casserole German Style

Cabbage Casserole German Style
2 lbs. ground beef
3 Tbs. onion
2 lbs. cabbage or green cabbage
1/2 cup water
2 Tbs. vinegar
2 Tbs. sugar
1/2 lb. butter
some thickener, if needed
pepper, salt

Fry the onion in oil and add the ground beef. Break, until the beef is
crumbly. Add some pepper and salt. Set aside. Chop the cabbage and
put in a big pot with water, vinegar and sweetener. Bring to a boil,
put the butter on the top of the cabbage and cover with a lid. Cook,
until the cabbage is ready. Add the beef and stir. Add vinegar,
sweetener, pepper and salt to taste. If needed, add some thickener or
some cream.
