Chewy Popcorn Balls
5 quarts popped corn
2 cups sugar
1-1/2 cups water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
Keep popcorn hot in a 300F to 350F oven. In a buttered saucepan
combine sugar, water, corn syrup, viengar and salt. Cook and stir to
hard-ball stage (250 on candy thermometer.) Stir in vanilla. Slowly
pour over hot corn. Stir just till mixed. Butter hands; shape into
3" balls. Wrap in clear plastic wrap.
