Recipe: Family Style Swiss Steak

1/4 cup all-purpose flour
Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
1 1/2 pounds cubed steak, cut into serving pieces
3 tablespoons Oil
1 large onion, sliced
1 package (6 oz.) sliced fresh mushrooms
1 can (15 oz.) Seasoned Diced Tomato Sauce
for Soup & Stew


COMBINE flour, salt and pepper in resealable plastic bag; add steak.
Shake to coat steak evenly
HEAT oil in large skillet; brown steak (on both sides) in batches.
Remove steak from skillet; set aside. Add onion and mushrooms to
skillet; cook until lightly golden. Add Diced Tomato Sauce; return
steak to skillet. Reduce heat.
SIMMER uncovered, for 10 minutes.
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4
