Using cocoa as a Substitute for Baking Chocolate and more!
Use cocoa instead of baking chocolate and avoid messy pre-melting.
UNSWEETENED BAKING CHOCOLATE: 3 Tbs. cocoa + 1 Tbs. shortening = 1 oz.
SEMI-SWEET BAKING CHOCOLATE: 6 Tbs. cocoa + 7 Tbs. sugar + 1/4 cup
shortening = 6 oz.
SWEET BAKING CHOCOLATE: 3 Tbs. cocoa + 4-1/2 Tbs. sugar + 2-2/3 Tbs.
shortening = 4 oz.
*For an irresistible "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate Chip Cookie, add
1/3 cup cocoa to your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe!
*Try Mocha Coffee: Add 1-2 tsp. cocoa to hot coffee, stir vigorously.
Add cream and sugar to taste.
