Recipe: Beef Oriental

1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion -- sliced
1 clove garlic -- crushed
1 package hamburger helper mix for beef noodle
3 1/3 cups hot water
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon molasses
8 ounces sliced water chestnuts -- drained
1 package frozen chinese pea pods -- thawed and drained
1 can mandarin orange segments -- drained
Cook the ground beef, onion and garlic in 10-inch skillet; stirring
frequently, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in noodles, sauce mix,
water, soy sauce, molasses and the water chestnuts. Heat to boiling,
stirring occasionally; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 5 minutes, stirring
occasionally. Stir in pea pods and orange segments. cover and simmer 5
minutes longer.
