Recipe: Creamy Microwave Asparagus Soup

250 g fresh asparagus -- (1 bunch)
2 tablespoons water
1 onion -- finely chopped
1 stick celery -- finely chopped
15 g butter
250 ml chicken stock -- (1 cup)
680 g canned green asparagus spears
60 ml dry vermouth -- (1/4 cup)
300 ml thickened cream

Place asparagus in shallow dish, add water, cover, cook in microwave on
HIGH 3 minutes or until just tender, drain and chop. Combine onion, celery
and butter in bowl, cook on HIGH 3 minutes. Add stock and undrained cans
of asparagus, cook on HIGH 5 minutes. Puree mixture in processor or
blender until smooth, place in bowl, stir in vermouth, cream and chopped
asparagus. Cook on HIGH 3 minutes or until heated through.
