Recipe: Almond Ameretto Loaf

Almond Amaretto Loaf
Yield: 12 slices.
For bread:
1 cup milk
1 large egg
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup amaretto liqueur
1 teaspoon lemon juice
3/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups bread flour
1/2 cup chopped almonds, toasted
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
For glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons amaretto liqueur
1 to 2 teaspoons milk
1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
Add the bread ingredients to the bread machine pan in the order
suggested by the manufacturer, adding the almonds with the flour.
Select the basic/white bread cycle; light or medium/normal color
setting. Remove baked bread from pan; let cool on a wire rack.
