Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
4 cups milk and/or light cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon almond extract
5 eggs
Nutmeg for top In oven-proof 1-1/2 quart baking dish, combine sugar
and milk/cream. Scald in microwave for 10 minutes, stirring
occasionally to dissolve sugar. Meanwhile beat eggs in separate bowl.
Add vanilla and almond extract. While beating at low speed, slowly
pour scalded milk/cream mixture into beaten eggs. Return to 1-1/2
quart baking dish, set dish in pan of hot water in the oven and bake
at 325 degrees for approximately 1 hour, until silver knife inserted
into center comes out clean. Sprinkle with nutmeg after removing from
oven. Chill. Serve plain or topped with fresh fruit.
