5 cups flour
3/4 Cup sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. baking powder
3 Tbsp. sugar
2 Cups buttermilk
1 pkg. yeast dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water
Mix dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Cut in shortening until thoroughly mixed. Add buttermilk and dissolved yeast. Mix together with a large spoon until all flour is moist. Cover bowl and place in fridge until
ready to use. When ready to use, take out what is needed, roll on a floured surface until 1/2 inch thick and cut. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet for 10-12 minutes at 400 degrees. Refrigerated dough will keep for several weeks. This will make about 6 dz. biscuits. I just dropped mine from a spoon onto a greased sheet and baked till brown. Very light for a biscuit.
